I've been working on my "new" old house I moved into this past July, it was built about 1930. Fortunately, it's rather small. About had it with the kitchen, been working on it too long, ready to do something else. Got the last counter top in, and my oven is working great!
When I went under the house to run the line for my oven, I noticed a couple of things, one, there's no insulation under the floor. 2, the pipes aren't wrapped. One of the supports in the center of the house is also leaning, it's directly under my piano. Not good. Also, a lot of electrical wires hanging connected with wire connectors but not in boxes. Not good either. So, need to pay attention, some of this stuff could present a big problem!
The floors are very sloped, can't be drunk in this house! Apparently there aren't enough supports under it, building code was non-existant in the 30's!
Mean while, college starts up again on Monday, and fabric is ordered for a boat cover job I'm doing. Such is life!
