 Spaghetti sauce recipe

2 large cans of tomato sauce

1 small can tomato paste

1 or 2 small cans sliced mushrooms

About 8 stalks of chopped celery

2 large onions chopped

2 tablespoons minced garlic

2 tablespoons oregano

2 tablespoons thyme

2 tablespoons parsley

4 tablespoons brown sugar

2 tablespoons vinegar

2 or 3 tablespoons ev olive oil

1 and a half pounds of ground beef

Place all except the ground beef into crock pot and cook a minimum of 4 hours on high. Cook and drain ground beef and add before serving.

Terrific Rice Recipe!


I've made this recipe many times, with a few variations!

Terrific Rice
(From the Ground Beef Cookbook)

1 cup Rice
2 cups Water
2 Chicken bouillon cubes
1 lb. Sausage links
1 lb. Ground beef
1/4 cup Butter or margarine
1 lb. Sliced mushrooms
1/2 tsp. Pepper
1 tsp. Salt (delete if using chicken bouillon in rice).
1 Chopped onion
Parsley
1/2 lb Chicken livers (I really don't add them!)

Cook rice as directed, add chicken bouillon cubes if desired.

Saute sliced sausage in skillet until done, Set on paper towels and drain fat from skillet.
Add ground beef and saute until crumbly. Drain off fat and add both meats to rice.
Melt 1/4 cup butter or margarine in skillet and saute mushrooms and onion. Add to rice. Add chicken livers to 2 tablespoons of butter or margarine and saute until done. Add to rice.  Add pepper and toss all together, and sprinkle with chopped parsley. Makes 6 to 8 servings. Enjoy!
